Ekaterina Shabunina is currently a PhD student of University of Milano – Bicocca, DISCo in the Information Retrieval Lab. Her PhD supervisor is Prof. Gabriella Pasi. Her research topics of interest span around Social Network Analysis and Information Propagation.
From 2013 to 2014 she held a research fellow (assegnista di ricerca) position in Politecnico di Milano in the Search Computing (SeCo) Project, under supervision of Prof. Stefano Ceri and Marco Brambilla, where she analyzed correlation of the user-generated content from Social Networks and real-world events.
In 2013 she has acquired her Master of Science Degree in Computer Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, where she studied on a “Double Degree” Program. Her thesis supervisor was Marco Brambilla.
In 2012 she has obtained her 5-year Engineering Degree in Applied Mathematics in IT from Moscow State Technical University of Radio Engineering, Electronics and Automation (MSTU MIREA).
